2026-10-06 · Flutter 0.1.0-beta.4

Flutter 0.1.0-beta.4 (Preview) implements requestPermission() on Android. It shows the system prompt on Android 13 and later and returns the current permission state straight away, as React Native does, so it returns false while the prompt is open. Without an Activity it fails with activity_unavailable. A failed configure() now fails with pushhub_error, as on iOS, instead of invalid_configuration. The plug-in still uses the Android core 0.1.0-beta.7, and it has not run on a device yet.

2026-10-05 · Required signature checks, background setup and installable packages

Android Beta 7 checks signed config again at activation, at startup and when the trusted keys change, and stores the keys on the device. It configures itself when Android starts the app for a refresh, and a refresh it could not fetch makes the next fetch skip the minimum interval. It is also published to PushHub's Maven repository. JavaScript 2.0.0-beta.4 (Preview) has the same signed-config and missed-refresh fixes and is now a downloadable tarball. The Unity, Flutter, React Native, Godot and Unreal Engine 0.1.0-beta.3 Preview packages install the Android core from the Maven repository or carry it inside the package. The wrappers have no signed-config API, and background refresh has not been validated with them. None of these changes has run on a device yet.

2026-10-05 · Instant refresh, signed config and framework remote config

Android Beta 6 fetches a newly published config as soon as a silent refresh arrives and verifies signed config responses with PushHub.config.setTrustedSigningKeys. Flutter, React Native, Godot and Unreal Engine 0.1.0-beta.2 add remote config, which works on Android, where Android Beta 6 also gives them instant refresh. The Flutter and React Native iOS code ships too, but it needs the next iOS release, which is pending a macOS build.

Android Beta 5 reports device context for targeting and adds the remote config API. Unity 0.1.0-beta.2 adds PushHub.Config on Android, with .meta files for tarball and Git installs; on iOS it returns the in-app defaults for now. iOS device context and remote config ship in the next iOS release.
